// frequently asked questions

Can't find what you're looking for above? These are the questions we hear most often.

Yes — deClusterize offers a genuinely useful free plan with no credit card required. The free tier includes your personalized digital organization plan, access to all core step-by-step guides, progress tracking, and one connected cloud or email integration. Paid plans (Pro and Team) unlock unlimited integrations, the full templates library, advanced analytics, priority email support, and team workspaces. You can upgrade at any time from your account settings, and there is a 14-day money-back guarantee on all new paid subscriptions.
deClusterize currently integrates with Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Apple iCloud Drive, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, and local file systems on Windows and macOS. Mobile integrations for iOS Files and Google Files on Android are available through our companion app. We add new integrations regularly based on user requests — you can vote for upcoming integrations from the Integrations page inside your account. All connections require your explicit authorization via secure OAuth and can be disconnected at any time without deleting your plan data.
By default, deClusterize reads only metadata — file names, sizes, types, and dates modified — to analyze your digital environment and build your organizing plan. We never read the contents of your documents, photos, or emails unless you explicitly enable a specific feature that requires it (for example, the duplicate-content detection scan, which runs locally on your device and does not upload content to our servers). For email integrations, we access only headers — sender, subject line, and date — to calculate inbox size and suggest cleanup steps. You can review all permissions granted to each integration from your Account Settings at any time.
Sessions are designed to fit into 15 minutes or less. Every task in your plan is scoped to be completable in a single focused block — no all-day organizing marathons required. Research consistently shows that short, repeated sessions build lasting habits far more effectively than infrequent deep-clean sessions. Most users complete three to five sessions per week. Your plan automatically adjusts its task size based on your session feedback, so if 15 minutes feels too short or too long, simply let the system know and it will recalibrate.
Yes. Your deClusterize account — including your personalized plan, task history, connected integrations, and settings — syncs in real time across all devices via the web app at declusterize.com. There is no limit on the number of devices you can sign in from simultaneously. Native apps for iOS and Android are currently in development and will be available to all existing subscribers at no additional cost when launched. Desktop apps for Windows and macOS are also on the roadmap.
You can cancel at any time — no phone calls, no chat hoops. Go to Account Settings → Billing → Cancel Plan and follow the on-screen steps. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain full access to your paid features until that date and will not be charged again afterward. Your plan data and history are preserved for 90 days after cancellation in case you decide to return. If you are within your first 14 days on a new paid plan, you are eligible for a full refund — email us at info@declusterize.com and we will process it within one business day.
When you delete your account, all personal data — including your profile, plan history, task logs, and integration tokens — is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Before deleting, you can request a full data export (JSON or CSV format) from Account Settings → Privacy → Export My Data. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by tax law, but are fully anonymized and dissociated from your identity. Deletion is irreversible; we recommend exporting your data first if you want a record of your organizing history.
Security is foundational to everything we build. All connections to declusterize.com use TLS 1.3 encryption in transit. Sensitive data fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Passwords are never stored — only a bcrypt hash with a per-user salt. We enforce role-based access controls internally so that employees can access only the data required for their job function. We run regular third-party penetration tests and vulnerability scans, and operate a responsible disclosure program for security researchers. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
